Rane Staton was born in Virginia, dob 1768, dod 1843. He moved to Cumberland County, Kentucky in 1812. He married Ester Fergus Monford, dob 1784, dod 1872 and they had four children.

JAMES C.--Married Fanny Winfrey (the only child of Billy and Sallie Winfrey) and they had the following children.

James William, Lucy, Alsipia plus a number of infants.

JAMES WILLIAM married PARTHINIA IRWIN. (Note: Indications are that James William Staton was the first PostMaster of Snow Kentucky. Post Masters following him were Verner Piercey and the last one before rural route service began was J.E. (Edgar) Lee.

James William and Parthinia had the following children:

Evie (married Polson), Della, Cora, Sadie (married Floyd Guthrie), William C (Bill), Charles, James A, Laura, Thomasine, John R, Roy, Hubert, Herbert, Iula, Twin infants.

John R married Zadie Thomas and they had the following children:

Jean, Dean, John R (Jr) and Faye

James A married Mildred Hawkins of Glen Carbon, IL and they had the following children:

Virginia, James A (Jr), Dale and Teddy
